Russian consumers are getting their first taste of what Taiwanese car manufacturer Luxgen will soon have to offer at the Moscow International Automobile Salon 2012 (MIAS) that runs from August 31 to September 9.
The automaker has already established a local subsidiary named Luxgen Russia, it’s first outside of Taiwan.
The company plans to launch into the market in the beginning of the second quarter of 2013 with the LUXGEN7 SUV, a mid-size crossover model measuring 4.8 meters long, 1.93 meters wide and 1.76 meters tall.
It will be offered with a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine rated at 175-horsepower and linked to a five-speed automatic driving all-four wheels.
The Taiwanese automaker said that it expects to expand its lineup in Russia with the addition of two more models before the end of 2013.
These include the LUXGEN5, a mid-size sedan motivated by a force-fed 2.0-liter petrol engine capable of producing 170-horses, and which is matted to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The other model is the LUXGEN7 CEO, formally known as the LUXGEN7 MPV, a mid-size minivan described by the company as the ideal vehicle for "the business executive who demands private space".
Luxgen CEO KC Hu commented after the presentation of the brand at MIAS: “With the highly positive feedback received during MIAS, we are optimistic for the upcoming challenges for LUXGEN to enter one of the most promising global challenges."
