While most people would like to drive the SRT-8 version of the Grand Cherokee, its 6.4-liter Hemi V8 isn't for everyone, which is why Jeep also offers a thriftier V6 diesel in many regions around the world (a U.S. introduction of this engine isscheduled for next year). In the UK, the Detroit carmaker has designed a new version of the Grand Cherokee V6 Diesel named the "S-Limited", which it says takes many styling cues from the recent SRT model.
The exterior package adorns the Grand Cherokeewith a black grille featuring a chrome mesh insert, smoked headlamps, black rear light bar, gloss black 20-inch wheels, and also eliminating the chromed door protective strips.
Inside the cabin, the S-Limited model attempts to wow consumers with a leather-wrapped heated steering wheel, ventilated sports-styled Nappa leather seats, aluminum pedal pads, and real carbon fibre trim on the dashboard and the door panels.
Jeep has also enhanced the standard equipment list of the SUV with a Quadra-Lift air suspension, Quadra-Trac II four wheel drive system, cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, Uconnect navigation, an 825-watt Harman-Kardon audio system with 19 speakers and three sub-woofers and a power tailgate.
As mentioned previously, the S-Limited is powered by Jeep’s 237bhp, 3.0-liter V6 CRD diesel engine.
The new Grand Cherokee S-Limited will cost £44,595 OTR (equal to US$71,600) when it goes on sale in the UK later this month.
