About a month after the SEMA Show that kicks off today, Europe will have its own aftermarket festival in the guise of the 45th annual Essen Motor Show, which takes place in Germany from December 1 to 9.The BMW brand will be there with a host of production and racing models including its full M Performance range and Original BMW Accessories lineup.
The highlight of the German firm's presence at the show will be the world premiere of the BMW M Performance accessories for the new 3-Series Touring, which will be available for order from April 2013.
The 320d Touring on show will be fitted with numerous styling parts and performance upgrades, such as the M Power Kit that lifts peak output of the 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine from 181hp (184PS) to 197hp (200PS), 20-inch wheels and an aero package.
The interior of the estate model will be enhanced with a sports steering wheel, stainless steel pedals, interior strips in Alcantara and carbon and numerous other components finished in carbon.
Other cars that will be on display at BMW's stand, include the new 125i, a previous generation 120d, a 535i Sedan and an M3 Coupe, all upgraded with M Performance products.
In addition, a M3 DTM will be used for the "Pit Stop Challenge", a competition in which participants have to change tires as quickly as possibly using original DTM team equipment.
