For the past two decades, Mitsuoka, a Japanese company that specializes in the creation of eccentric designs, has been offering the Viewt, which is a small sedan model based on the Nissan March (also known as the Micra) that looks like a shrunken Jaguar Mark 2 from the 1960s.This week, Mitsuoka presented the third generation of the Viewt built on the latest Nissan March / Micra (K12), which was launched in 2010.
The exterior shell of the Viewt Mk3 is more or less identical to the older model sans some details such as the newer Micra's mirrors and door handles.
Inside, the Viewt Mk3 benefits from the latest Micra's updated dashboard and controls, while Mitsuoka also tried to make the cabin look more luxurious with the use of high quality leathers that cover the seats, door panels and dashboard cowl, and fancier wooden trims.
The Viewt Mk3 is offered exclusively with Nissan's 78hp (79PS) 1.2-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine linked to a CVT that drives the front or optionally, all four wheels through an AWD system.
Prices in Japan range from 2,050,000 to 2,725,000 yen (US$25,800-US$34,300 / €20,500-€27,300).
