More than a year after Lexus officially presented the LFA Nürburgring Edition at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, the first example of the Japanese supercar arrived in Europe and was delivered this week to an unnamed customer in Britain. This is one of only 50 LFA Nürburgring Edition models that will be sold worldwide.
The Nürburgring Edition model is finished in an orange exterior hue with a black interior, but that's not what makes it special.
The package adds a host of elements that increase downforce for improved performance on the track. These include a front spoiler made from CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced plastic), a fixed rear-wing, fin-type side spoilers, a canard fin and a re-tuned and 10mm lowered suspension plus exclusive mesh-type wheels fitted with dedicated high-grip tires.
Furthermore, maximum power from the LFA’s 4.8-litre V10 engine has been lifted from 552 to 562bhp (411 to 420kW) while the revisions to the six-speed sequential transmission drop shift times from 0.20 to 0.15 seconds.
Lexus says that these changes don't affect the car’s 3.7-second zero to 62mph (100km/h) acceleration time and 202mph (325km/h) top speed (see it lapping the 'Ring here).
