The Citroën DS is without a doubt one of the most recognizable cars ever made. Its distinctive shape, penned by Flaminio Bertoni, and the array of advanced technologies, made it the most iconic car in the brand's history.
The DS was way ahead of its time, with its self-leveling hydro-pneumatic suspension that offered a “magic carpet” ride was the highlight among the many innovations it brought to world of automobiles.
The crew at Motor Trend believe the DS is the most innovative car of the 20th century. They also think that the most innovative car of the last 12 months is the Tesla Model S, a battery-powered luxury sedan that is so different from everything else on the market, just like the DS was and still is.
You probably know by now where they were going with this comparison - to a 'Head to Head' test between these two models. To see how the 1956 Citroën DS compares against the 2013 Tesla Model S make your way across the jump and watch the video that follows.
