Following a teaser video that previewed the M Performance Editions of the M3 Coupe and M5 Sedan posted earlier this month, BMW has now released detailed information and pricing for its limited run models that were created exclusively for the UK market.
Only thirty examples of each model will be available with on-the-road pricing set at £74,080 (US$115,500) for the M3 M Performance Edition and £95,140 (US$148,400) for the M5 M Performance Edition. Both cars are on sale now.
In contrast to their name and with the exception of the standard Competition Package on the M3 Coupe, the M Performance Editions are all about style and added equipment features.
The two sports cars are available in three new Frozen paint colours to the UK, named "BMW Individual Japan Red", "BMW Individual Frozen White" and "BMW Individual Frozen Blue", complemented by Full Black Merino leather upholstery on the M5, and Black Novillo leather upholstery on the M3, both with contrasting Mugello Red, Lotus White or Tobago Blue stitching as standard.
The look of the interior in both cars is enhanced with floor mats with contrast piping, an Alcantara steering wheel, BMW Individual Piano Black interior trim with a ‘One of 30’ laser cut inscription, front headrests with M stitching and door sills with ‘BMW M Performance Edition’ designation.
The 414hp (420PS) M3 M Performance Edition also comes with a standard Competition Package featuring 10mm lowered suspension, Electronic Damper Control with Sport mode and a revised DSC+ system, plus 19-inch Matt Black alloy wheels, Dark Chrome exhaust, side gills and kidney surround, jet black bonnet intakes, carbon-fibre front splitters, high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim, folding exterior mirrors and sun protection glass.
Other standard items include Adaptive headlights, DAB digital radio with Harman/Kardon 13-loudspeaker system, a Media Package, mobile application preparation, telephone USB audio interface and Internet.
The 552hp (560PS) BMW M5 M Performance Edition includes £22,075 worth of additional equipment as standard.
Among other features, the high-performance sedan gets 20-inch Matt Black alloy wheels, Dark Chrome exhaust, side gills and kidney surround, M Sport multi-function seats with lumbar support, powered bootlid operation, a reversing assist camera, and upgraded audio system.
